    The conservation area covers two parts of the town: 

    1. Centred on Okehampton Parish Church and surrounding land, ie land bounded by Church Path; Darkey Lane, Church Avenue, South Church Lane (OS 3100); the cemetery; Church car park and adjoining land (OS 0003; 9903; 9998); Church House, Beech Court, Sweet Lands and land bounded by Church Avenue, Church Path and these properties (OS 2719). 
    2. Covering the central area of Okehampton and extending southwards along the axes of Station Road and Castle Road.  The area covers the Community College campus, Pleasure Grounds and Simmons park, properties on the northern side of Brandize Park, Station Road, Castle Road, extending as far as the Castle Hospital and grounds.  The boundary encompasses properties along Prospect before rejoining High Street and skirting the northern edge of properties in the town centre.  The Conservation Area extends northwards along the East Okement River to incorporate Listed Buildings in North Street before returning southwards along the rear of the properties fronting East Street, skirting the western edge of properties in Mill Road, and including the Town Mill area.
