Introduced in July 2017, the fortnightly Garden Waste Collection Service offers West Devon residents the chance to ensure their gardens are free of garden waste and looking their best.
Cllr Robert Sampson, West Devon Borough Council's Lead Member for Commercial Services, said: "With the warmer weather now here many people are deciding to venture into their gardens to clear the winter shrubbery, cut the grass and make gardens ready for summer. I would like to remind residents of our Garden Waste Service, which will save taking garden waste to the Recycling Centre.
"There is an annual charge for the service but if you have not yet signed up, you can do so now."
Unlike Waste and Recycling, there is no legal requirement for us to provide a Garden Waste Service. However, West Devon Borough Council recognised that many residents value the service and decided to keep it on a "paid for" basis.

How it works
The normal subscription service costs £40 per year and provides four green sacks and four permits per subscription with a fortnightly collection service. Terms and Conditions apply. Subscription runs from October - September. There are no collections over the Christmas period.
On collection days, residents simply need to tag the green sacks provided with the brightly coloured permits, which tell the crews that you have subscribed. Once collected, garden waste is composted locally to produce a soil conditioner.
