There are a number of different funding streams and grants available to Community Groups in West Devon.
As a result of new housing developments in Tavistock, funding is available to support community groups who are seeking to provide new or improved facilities in Tavistock.
The funds are available to support projects that can show additional demands have been or will be placed on their facilities as a result of new housing development. They will also need to demonstrate that existing facilities cannot meet these additional demands.
Examples of projects include:
There is a total of approximately £30,000 available. There is no maximum sum limit for applications but organisations need to be mindful that there will be competing projects. Match funding will be looked upon very favourably, with 50% match funding desirable.
To make an application, please read the Community Facilities Grant Guidance Notes carefully, and then complete the application form below.
The deadline for applications is 5.00 p.m. on 12 March 2021.
Funding to provide financial support to community groups to help purchase equipment or fund building related costs. These could include funds for sports equipment, repairs to a village hall or tree planting.
The maximum grant you can normally apply for is £5,000 or up to 50% of the project's cost, whichever is the lower, however in some circumstances we could consider a grant of up to £10,000 for exceptional projects. You will need to find other sources of funding for the remaining costs but we can give you advice on where you can apply to or who to contact.
To make an application for a Community Project Grant, please read the guidance notes and Community Project Grant application form under the downloads section of this page.
West Devon Councillors each have £500 a year to spend on projects to support communities in their ward. The minimum grant that can be applied for is £100. Funding can be used to support local events, spaces and training as well as equipment and facilities. If you have more than one councillor in your area you might be able to request funds from each of them to support your project. To find out which councillor(s) represent your area see Find Councillors by Ward.
To make an application to the Locality Fund please use the Locality Fund Guidance Notes and Sustainable Communities Locality Fund application form, which you can find under the downloads section of this page.
