Fly Posting

Flyposting is displaying adverts and other promotional materials on buildings, posts, poles, litter bins and elsewhere in public, without permission.

In England, it is illegal (in certain circumstances) under the Highways Act 1980 and the Town and Country Planning Act 1990.

We remove flyposting and graffiti from council property, including buildings, free of charge. If you are able to take a photo of the poster or leaflet to send to us, it may help us issue a fine to the offender.

We are not able to remove flyposting from private property. There are a number of commercial cleaning companies who will be able to assist you with this.
