Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grants

If we have sent you an invitation for the Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant, you must apply by 18 March 2022.

Any applications received after this time cannot be considered due to mandatory Government guidelines.

Applications will be processed and paid by 31 March 2022.

The Government has now released guidance for the Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant, to support businesses affected by the COVID-19 Omicron variant.

Please see below for some details on eligibility and how much your business can expect to receive if your application is successful.

Eligible businesses must appear on the business rates ratings list on 30 December 2021 in order to qualify.

The Grant is a one-off payment to business rated businesses that fall into the following sectors:

  • Hospitality
    • Including (but not limited to) pubs, restaurants (excluding takeaways), cafés, etc.
  • Leisure
    • Including (but not limited to) tourist attractions, event venues, museums, galleries, theatres, etc. Gyms, personal care and retail businesses are not included.
  • Accommodation
    • Including (but not limited to) holiday parks, hotels, campsites, etc.

How much is the grant award?

Payment is based on the rateable value (RV) for each eligible business premises as follows:

When can I apply and how do I apply?

All eligible businesses were contacted directly by email on Thursday, 6 January 2022 with instructions and links to apply for this grant.

A follow-up email was sent to businesses that have not yet applied on Friday, January 21 2022.

The email will list everything you will need to tell us for your application. Please read it carefully and in full before completing your application. Giving us correct information allows us to process and pay applications much faster.

If you have received an invitation to apply for the Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant, please make sure you apply by 18 March 2022 to guarantee your application is fully processed.

Applications received after 18 March cannot be considered.

All OHLG decisions and payments will be finalised by 31 March 2022, in line with Government mandated guidelines.

I have not been contacted about the grant

Please use the button below to contact us if you think your business is eligible but:

  • You have not previously applied for any COVID-19 business support grants from us
  • You think we may have the wrong contact details for your business (based on previous grant applications)

Please note that Grant enquiries or applications received via other channels such as email inboxes, may not be addressed and your business risks missing out on payments.

My business is not eligible for the Omicron Hospitality and Leisure grant; what other grants are available?

The Additional Restrictions Grant Omicron (ARGO) is a new grant which will support businesses impacted by COVID-19 Omicron variant, that do not otherwise qualify for the Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant.

Your business may qualify for this grant if

  • It had to close as a result of the Omicron variant
  • It experienced supply chain issues as a result of the Omicron variant
  • It suffered cancellations as a result of the Omicron variant

Applications and further information about this grant including application deadlines will be available online from early next week (week commencing 24 January 2022).
