Mayoral Awards 2024

Nominations for this year's Mayoral Awards are now closed.

The Mayoral Awards are given out each year to an individual, firm or organisation who:

  • has done something particularly noteworthy in the Borough, or
  • has enhanced the reputation of the Borough on the national stage, or
  • made a significant contribution to the conservation and protection of the natural environment of West Devon.

An individual can include a person temporarily living away from the Borough but whose main place of residence remains in West Devon.


What awards are presented?

There are four awards:

  • Under 18
  • Over 18 or Organisation
  • The Mayor's Green Award
  • The Mayor's Award for Long Service
Award Who should be nominated
Under 18

The nominee should be

✔ a person under the age of 18 (at the time of nomination) and

✔ who has done something particularly noteworthy in the Borough,

OR

✔ enhanced the Borough's reputation nationally.

Over 18

The nominee should be

✔ a person over the age of 18

✔ who has done something particularly noteworthy in the Borough, OR

✔ enhanced the Borough's reputation nationally.

✔ You can also nominate Organisations for this category.

The Mayor's Green Award

This award was created to recognise the work of individuals or groups who have made a significant contribution to conservation and protection of the West Devon natural environment.

The Mayor's Award for Long Service

The nominee should be a person who has done something particularly noteworthy in the Borough, or enhanced the Borough's reputation nationally, and deserves to be recognised for their long service.

The closing date for nominations was 29 Feb 2024.
