The Mayoral Awards are given out each year to an individual, firm or organisation who:
- has done something particularly noteworthy in the Borough, or
- has enhanced the reputation of the Borough on the national stage, or
- made a significant contribution to the conservation and protection of the natural environment of West Devon.
An individual can include a person temporarily living away from the Borough but whose main place of residence remains in West Devon.
What awards are presented?
There are four awards:
- Under 18
- Over 18 or Organisation
- The Mayor's Green Award
- The Mayor's Award for Long Service

Under 18 |
The nominee should be ✔ a person under the age of 18 (at the time of nomination) and ✔ who has done something particularly noteworthy in the Borough, OR ✔ enhanced the Borough's reputation nationally. |
Over 18 |
The nominee should be ✔ a person over the age of 18 ✔ who has done something particularly noteworthy in the Borough, OR ✔ enhanced the Borough's reputation nationally. ✔ You can also nominate Organisations for this category. |
The Mayor's Green Award |
This award was created to recognise the work of individuals or groups who have made a significant contribution to conservation and protection of the West Devon natural environment. |
The Mayor's Award for Long Service |
The nominee should be a person who has done something particularly noteworthy in the Borough, or enhanced the Borough's reputation nationally, and deserves to be recognised for their long service. |
